2020 has been a busy year for the team here at ActivCare. We launched our Online Level 2 Exercise & Dance Course, meaning that we can now reach and train care professionals both across the UK and internationally. It is fantastic to see so many carers willing to develop their skill set to help improve the wellbeing of their residents and clients.
Saffron from Brackenley is one of our most recent Coaches to pass her assessment process.
Brackenley is owned by Harrogate Skills 4 Living Centre, an established charity working for the benefit of adults with learning disabilities and autism in the Harrogate and wider region. The charity currently owns two Care Homes and a Day service as well as offering three separate routes to employment to support young people and school leavers with autism and support needs into apprenticeships, internships and paid employment.
Saffron has been with the organisation for several years now and is a Senior Carer at our Brackenley Residential Home for 12 adults of varying ages with Learning & Physical disabilities.
“Saffron is our Lead in Activities within the home and is also qualified to deliver holistic therapies for relaxation and does this in our designated sensory facility. Having a staff member able to offer safe seated exercise activities at Brackenley is vital during the COVID-19 lock down while our bespoke gym at the day service is out of bounds and our PT trainer visits have had to stop. Saffron will no doubt inject her usual positive and creative spark into to the sessions to make them a fun and enjoyable activity. HS4LC is delighted to have staff like Saffron on board who embrace training as a means to expand on the outstanding care and support we can offer our residents.”
