On the 05/04/19 we held our first training day at Hospital of God in Hartlepool where we hosted a Level 2 Seated Exercise Training course.
Hospital of God have shown a real initiative in keeping their residents and guests active and living well as by the end of this month we will have trained 10 people on their training days!
Our fully accredited Level 2 Seated Exercise Leader course is designed specifically for professionals wanting to help increase the fitness levels and wellbeing of their clients through seated exercise. It is perfect for those working with older adults or individuals with disabilities, as well as those who have a family member they want to help participate in exercise.
Here is what participant Debbie Sharp, Activites Coordinator, had to say about our training:
Our training was delivered to care professionals with the job titles of: Activites Co-ordinator, Dementia Advisor, Warden, Care Assistant and Carer. We were thrilled to see such a collection of professions wishing to take part in our training and make an impact to others lives!
The training involved both practical and theory learning, with lots of interaction and group activities; and everyone had a go at delivering a section of a seated exercise lesson to allow them to practice their new skills in a comfortable setting before moving onto their own classes.
We can confidently say that these attendees will make brilliant ActivCare Coaches when they pass their assessments, as they were telling stories and analogies all the way through their practice class to help encourage and motivate members!
By participating on the course, attendees developed the knowledge and skills required deliver fun, effective and interactive Seated Exercise sessions themselves. This can have a profound effect on their organisation. One of our attendees told us: ‘I will definitely share my knowledge with the rest of the team and will hold a class each week!
